On February 11, 2007, after 144 minutes and 32 seconds of play, the Canadiens defeated the Pickering Panthers in Game 2 of the first round of the playoffs. The Toronto Jr. Canadiens were originally known as the North York Civics. The organization then changed their name to the North York Canadiens where they adopted the logo of the Montreal Canadiens. In 1969-70, the Montreal Juniors were the most successful and dominating team in all of juniors defeating Darryl Sittler’s London Knights, Denis Potvin’s Ottawa 67’s, Marcel Dionne’s St. Catherine Black hawks, and Guy Lafleur’s Quebec Rempart’s and Bobby Clarkes’ Flin Flon Bombers.

The team originated in 1970 as the Toronto Raiders of the Metro Junior B league, and was renamed the Wexford Raiders in 1971.
