Would like to see a comparison. ?Yes, this FG knot will work for connecting a Yozi Carbon Fluoro leader line to a braid mainline.OMG you just cut my offshore prep time by hours! Is this a problem?I have a knot that has never broke. It is a simple but strong knot that wraps around the hook shank rather than just going through the eye of the hook. I can use a small drop of glue on the braid tag end but that does add a touch of hardness to what is a nice smooth and soft knot.
Cut the braid (need better scissors as the stub looks frayed) Seems to be holding but was afraid to pull tighter for fear of slicing through my fingers…yes with the thin braid. Less likely to come undone. My first comment here…I tested the FG knot against a bimini twist with a uni on the doubled braid and the FG knot still pulled ahead (while being much faster to tie relative to the two-knot combo).I have not yet tried the FG knot with leadcore line so I unfortunately can’t say for certain if it works or not. I’m not aware of any shard developmentBut if it’s a 65 lb braid to a 100+ lb leader, then it should work great.Just tied 25 FG knots 30# braid to 10# flour looks great will this line combo hold up fishing?I would also like to add that I typically fish hard and fast as long as the conditions agreeThanks Luke ! For that reason, I do not like the double uni knot. What is your plan for that setup?Tied my first FG just 5 min ago. A 100% arbor connection. I probably saw that post because I remember that being said. Turn around and start wrapping back towards your loop 8 to 10 times.. after u finish wrapping.
