It debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and it was their fifth consecutive album to do so (a feat only achieved by Metallica and Dave Matthews Band).What they didn’t expect was the monster that became the single of “The Sound of Silence”. Buy from Amazon. CD review DISTURBED ‘Evolution’ (8/10) Chicago-based rock powerhouse Disturbed released their latest album ‘Immortalized’ three years ago, which was the first album after a hiatus. Disturbed has had quite an eventful couple of years following the release of their hugely successful sixth studio album Immortalized. However, Evolution’s answer to Sound of Silence comes from a bonus track, Uninvited Guest. Like an uninvited guest, uninvited guest You still haunt my heart Guess you haven’t left it yet, haven’t left it yet Like an uninvited guest. There are some political notes here, if you wish to apply them, and if not, that’s okay too.

Evolution has received mixed reviews from music critics.Consequence of Sound writer Spencer Kaufman stated that "The heavy songs on Evolution should please longtime fans, with a couple harkening back to the dynamism of Disturbed's first couple of albums, but the glut of softer tracks may have been served better on a separate acoustic EP."

Evolution is a strong album that plays on the success of their Simon & Garfunkel cover. They crank it back up to edgy for “In Another Time,” a rocker that is exactly what one would expect from Disturbed and yet it still feels like the band are holding something back and not rocking to their full capacity. Meanwhile, a steady beat and glittering acoustics hold down the fort of “Watch You Burn,” an edgy reminder that this world is dog eat dog and we practice routine Schadenfreude. With a full-bodied Rock sound that harkens back to the band’s 2000 debut, “This Venom” goes gritty and is hands-down the best rocker on the album – making it fully worth the purchase of the Deluxe Edition. It’s followed by a Sam de Jong remix of “Are You Ready,” which almost entirely removes the band and uses Draiman’s vocals as the center of its electronic, flowy atmospherics. Shares. No More 3.
