The MGC exists to develop and maintain fraternity life and interfraternal relations between the culturally based fraternities and sororities on campus and the greater Arizona State University community. The Multicultural Greek Council commemorated this milestone during the Spring 2019 MGC Week. It was held March 18-24, 2019 and the theme of the week was 20 Years of Excellence . Greek Life at Oklahoma State University is composed of over 50 fraternity and sorority chapters and four governing councils; the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and Panhellenic Council.

In November 1981, Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. was founded at Rutgers University and would cement its permanent status in Greek life as the first multicultural sorority. July 6: The University of Missouri Panhellenic Association (PHA) has decided that, for 2020 PHA recruitment (Aug. 15-22), sisterhood and preference rounds will be held in person, with social distancing guidelines in place; participants will access open house and philanthropy rounds online.
