I’ve never seen one at any Aldi store. A decade later, more locations opened across the state.
I live in Ohio — Akron, to be specific.
Yesterday she threw my grapes on the bottom and threw everything on top. As with many family companies, the brothers eventually had a business disagreement and decided to split the company geographically into Aldi Nord (north) and Aldi Süd (South).
The two companies both own and operate various Aldi’s across Europe and the United States, but do so separately. That being German why I can’t find Kanish. However, in practice, Trader Joe’s and Aldi US operate fairly different from each other, with different pricing and different atmospheres.
A Trader Joe’s representative told us, “Trader Joe’s and Aldi Nord operate independently.”The answer is: yes … but not in the way most people think.For those reasons, we think it might be fair to say that Trader Joe’s is more of a free-spirited adopted cousin: while technically owned by part of the Aldi family line, it does its own thing, with a distinctive DNA all its own.I love Aldis, but hate their packers. In-laws? It’s clear that ALDI is pretty tight-lipped over the connection between the two stores: We pushed for more info and that was all we could get. There are a couple of Aldi’s not terribly far from my neighborhood, which I tend to call a “food desert.” South Akron, most specifically, Firestone Park, has only two grocery stores, Giant Eagle and Marc’s. I would love to see a Trader Joe’s come to town — bringing a variety of items the locals would discover to be delightful and at decent prices more affordable than anything comparable (unlikely) at Giant Eagle.I love Aldi and since I’ve gone to minimally processed foods diet I am surprised that I can still buy about 90% of my groceries & sundries here.
We don’t know! The rye bread, which is something not stocked in the small Aldi stores is very good as well.I just love them both Aldi and Traders Joe. We actually thought so, too! Until we went straight to the source and asked an Aldi spokesperson for the truth.In short, these two (or is it three?)

A really pleasant store to shop in.All I have to say is…I LOVE BOTH ALDI’S AND TRADER JOES…I always find something to buy at Traders Joes, but there’s nothing I need at trader joes. I have to travel an hour and 10 minutes to get to Trader Joe’s but it’s a nice drive to a college town where my grandson attends so therefore, a nice outing. How did the Aldi Trader Joe’s rumor begin? I find items there that I can’t get anywhere else, like Murphy’s Stout (from Ireland) and French Onion Soup and different cookies and now some frozen bags with veggies and couscous or barley concoction. Oh how good they are.

Trader Joe's and Aldi are two of the most popular affordable grocery chains in America. grocery chains aren’t technically in cahoots. Although Aldi’s frozen fruit is nearly a dollar … So Aldi Nord owns Trader Joe’s and Aldi Süd owns Aldi US. I like my close by Aldi store but sure wish I had a Trader Joe’s nearby also.

In the late 1970s, Aldi Nord’s Theo Albrecht took notice of a small but growing chain of stores in California founded by a man named Joe Coulombe, and in 1979 Theo bought Columbe’s store — Trader Joe’s — outright. As far as the Aldi Trader Joe’s rumor, it started because of Karl and Theo Albrecht, brothers from Essen, Germany that grew their mother’s local grocery to a chain of more than 300 discount food stores by 1960. But there is a “super” Aldi in a nearby village that has unbrined / organic meats as well as an in-store bakery.
