How does the Trek frame warranty ... Just put a large crack on my 9.9ssl frame ... Bang in the middle of the racing season, so not good. Trek said it was a RS issue, RS said it should have been serviced after 12 months (reverb B1s have huge issues with rotting circlips). But $1,300!! That is generally what the dealer is for. They wanted me to return the whole frame however given it had cracked almost all the way through they agreed I could just send back the BB shell with the serial number on it.
The dealer is now trying to see if there are other options. ðJust put a large crack on my 9.9ssl frame ð¥Bang in the middle of the racing season, so not good. Thanks, one of the reasons I bought the frame was the reputation Trek had with their warranty, even for those who race.Took 8 weeks in all i seem to remember.
Four of seven bikes in the stable are from Trek. They look at the frame and when they call Trek to warranty the part, Trek will usually ask if the part looks abused or if it looks like a defect. If you have a more expensive bike, they’ll probably send a frame. They should.Back in 2013 I had to warranty a 2009 hardtail frame that cracked at the seat tube/top tube junction. So what happens next? My son's 18 month old Superfly is cracked in two places. In my case they first sent a photo to trek, who then requested to have frame sent to them before authorizing replacement. We sent the frame back to Trek, and Trek denied the claim saying the cracks were due to "abnormal riding". It’s back at the dealer who will starting the warranty process on Monday but given the time of year I’m not expecting a quick response. My issue is the frame has been revised a couple of times. Once they had that back they sourced me a new 2013 frame and popped that out to me no questions asked.I have a customer who owned a Remedy carbon, pretty much top spec, reverb circlip failed (13 months of ownership) and shot down, cracking the seat tube. Subscriber. the post has a crack maybe 4-inches or so vertically. Trek offered a crash replacement frame at £2600 I think it was! Trek Domane frame crack voids warranty: "abnormal riding" The dealer and his Trek rep both looked at it and agreed that it was a valid warranty claim, with no doubts whatsoever. but carbon forks aren’t cheap and were included when I broke the frame.OP, I imagine, if they don’t have any of your year left, they’ll give you everything proprietary that you need to get back to where you were. All said and done it took around 3 weeks including then sourcing a frame from Trek Europe as they didn’t have any available in the UK.
Very pleased I’ve recommended Trek to three friends who’ve gone on and bought them.Good service…………..The fork was 9 years old…I dropped the frame off at the dealers on the Friday with original paper work and photo evidence. In my case the Lemond frame was no longer made, there was no similar steel frame imported into the UK, so Trek through the shop gave me a choice of 6 colours and then sprayed a frame and fork and shipped it from the states.
