We used that same mike for the whole track and I gave it to him afterwards. Chino’s voice has a lot of character, and he is able to change it. Download our mobile app now. SNW - the vocal melodies on this are amazing. I always do vocals on an SM58, which is a calculated decision since most of the bands I work with have careers that are 90 percent live work with ’58’s. Chino destroyed that microphone during recording – threw it around, spit in it. It would be very hard for me to turn my back on it now. On the song “7 Words”, Chino built a cave out of Styrofoam around the mic while they were tracking the chorus while his screaming SUCK! At the end of the 7 words demo you can hear other song, it’s from a Mexican singer called Vicente Fernandez and the song name is “caminos de michoacan” the genre is known in Mexico as ranchero (kinda mariachi). The songs also feel "samey".Yeah our opinions are so different lolSaturday Night Wrist/Diamond Eyes/White Pony/Deftones all tied for my favorite. Edit: Plus being a kid from Northern California, it was awesome having a cool band that was from where we were, with lyrics we could relate as kids like "Must leave the house soon, mean gone, 'cause my pops he's hot Grab my blue backpack, my walkman, grip my bicycle Because I know my friends are waiting at the door I'm feeling loose like you, just fucking around and shit"Adrenaline - Fun, energetic album, but it feels dated. But "#8" for me is Gore. "Engine No. White Pony - classic but tired of hearing the hitsMaybe it is the nostalgia, but I think you're right. Currently it'sNahh it's just your opinion haha. He uses his hand over the mike in different positions to get different sounds. Listen to your favorite songs from Adrenaline by Deftones Now. I got into Deftones when adrenaline was all there was. . Sometimes when the Deftones play “7 words”, instead of playing the song’s recorded breakdown, they busted into a cover of Weezer’s “Say it Aint So.” For all of you that don’t know (I’m sure most of you do) chino is a HUGE Weezer fan, and once jokingly said that he would leave the deftones if Rrivers asked him. It just takes me right back with every listen.SNW doesn't get enough love :)).Gore - More production problems and Chino's screams aren't at their best, but the songwriting is strong. This is just my opinion, I'd love to see yours!I just love the constant aggressiveness of adrenaline, every song gets me pumped upATF - the guitar tones and weird chords keep bringing me backSNW - the vocal melodies on this are amazingThis is so hard... Each one of them are so close to each other. First thought was WP, but front to back SNW edges out the win for me.Adrenaline - hyped and angry, great hype musicDeftones - The most underrated album in their catalogue. Adrenaline stands as the basis of everything Deftones would improve on their next records, all the attitude, the energy, and the style were cemented on the eleven tracks that were presented here.

Also, even though it is in the highest tuning, Adrenaline is one of the heaviest sounding albums....pretty amazing how Stef made this album sound with just plain standard tuning. These guys are incredibly focused on what they are doing and they love what they are doing, so it was really fun.Enter your email to get Deftones news!. Making it as distorted as he could without using actual effects, also making it hard to decipher what Chino is really saying. Also I hate Hearts/Wires.White Pony - Their masterpiece and as close to perfect as an album can get.I WILL be down voted for my OWN opinionSaturday Night Wrist - Production problems and lacks cohesion, but the high peaks are stunningly beautiful.Koi No Yokan White Pony Saturday Night Wrist Deftones Diamond Eyes Around The Fur Adrenaline GoreAnother surprise for me was when I actually thought about SNW vs WP. They are all legendary in my eyes.Honestly, not sure where I'd put B-sides and rarities.Around the Fur - Their heaviest, most furious album. I was a very casual fan of some of their singles since the White Pony era, but about one year ago, I started to really get into Deftones. Songs like "Minus Blindfold", "Nosebleed", and "Root" give the album thst raw, awesome feel. I got him to use the mike as an instrument. Album Lyrics and Tracklisting Skip to Content.
